What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a holistic, present-centred approach that helps people become aware of their thoughts, feelings, and body experiences in the moment. It focuses on how we relate to ourselves and others, encouraging authentic contact, personal responsibility, and integration of mind, body, and emotion.

The goal of Gestalt therapy is to increase awareness — of one’s feelings, bodily sensations, thoughts, and behaviours — in the present moment. Through this awareness, people can recognise patterns, take ownership of their experiences, and make authentic, integrated choices that support growth and connection..

This therapy is especially helpful if you feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of what you want or need in relationships.

Why do you offer a free 15 min consult?

Having a good rapport with your therapist is essential.  It's a chance for you to ask questions about my training, certification and accreditation. I'll tell you a bit about how I work, and you can tell me a bit about what's going on for you. We can then decide if we are a good fit.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Email me at leena@relationalawareness.com.au

I work face to face with clients in a practice space in Ultimo or we can meet online via zoom. I also offer Nature Based Gestalt Therapy to those who are interested in working with nature as your co-therapist.

Can I claim the medicare rebate on my mental health plan?

No. Sessions with me are not covered by Medicare. However, your out of pocket expenses will be less than under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

What type of payments do you accept?

I accept Cash or Direct Debit.
Bank transfers are available for Zoom sessions and must be cleared before the session.
